Because replicas are regular EC2 instances, recovering from a disaster is as simple as powering on the replicas, which is almost instant. What’s important, the instance replicas remain in the powered off state, so you don’t have to pay for compute resources at the DR region.

With NAKIVO Backup & Replication you can replicate your AWS EC2 instances from any AWS region to any AWS region. What’s more, you can replicate AWS EC2 instances cross-accounts, so even if your primary account credentials get compromised and a hacker deletes all your AWS EC2 instances, volumes, and snapshots (which takes seconds to do) you can immediately recover by powering on instance replicas in a different account.

For each replica, you can store up to 30 recovery points. So, if your AWS EC2 instance was damaged and then replicated, you still have the option to recover to a previous working state.

To speed up data transfer, all instance replicas are forever-incremental and transfer only changes to the target location. To ensure data consistency, you can enable the application-aware mode, which will ensure that data of applications and databases (such as Exchange, Active Directory, SQL, SharePoint and others) is consistent.
